Dulwich SE22
East Dulwich rail station is a short walk from the beginning of Lordship Lane and there is a network of mainly Victorian terraced housing from two-bedroom cottages to large family dwellings. Many properties have been converted into flats. Goose Green, Peckham Rye Park, Dulwich Park and woods all border the residential areas. A large Sainsbury's superstore with a Starbucks coffee bar is on Dog Kennel Hill next to Dulwich Hamlet Football ground. Dulwich Library and swimming baths are found at either end of Barry Road. Lordship Lane has become the main shopping area offering an extensive choice of shops from an organic green grocer in North Cross Road to Dulwich DIY in Lordship Lane. There are now many antique, interior and gift shops as well as cafés and bars.
Herne Hill SE24
The section between North Dulwich and Herne Hill rail stations is known as the North Dulwich Triangle and offers a number of substantial Victorian houses and has its own park plus easy access to Dulwich Village. Towards Brixton there is the conservation area of Poets Corner with access to the Victoria line tube at Brixton itself. Ruskin Park dominates the northern side and borders Camberwell where King's College Hospital is situated.
Peckham SE15
This is an increasingly popular area of mainly period property with a delightful conservation area within walking distance of the High street and Peckham Rye rail station. There is a much welcomed urban regeneration programme and substantial investment in the infrastructure. New leisure facilities include Peckham Pulse and Peckham Library. New houses and flats have also been built over the past 10 years. Further south there is Peckham Rye Park and Common, bordered by early 19th century town houses. Places to note are the conservation areas around Highshore Road near to Peckham High Street and Oglander Road near to East Dulwich station.
Nunhead SE15
Nunhead Village offers local shops including a florist, butcher and baker There is a wide selection of two and three bedroom Victorian houses, many within the Ivydale Road area built in the same style by one building firm at the turn of the century. Nunhead rail station serves Blackfriars (17 minutes) and London Bridge (12 minutes) with its links to the Jubilee tube.
Camberwell SE5
A selection of Georgian and early Victorian houses makes Camberwell a popular and sought-after area. Denmark Hill rail station or Loughborough Junction to the north serve the City and central London. A short bus ride takes you to the Oval Tube (Northern line). Places to note include Camberwell Grove with its many Georgian and Victorian houses and flats.
Forest Hill SE23
The elevated position offers a wide selection of 1930s houses of varying sizes some of which have outstanding views. The Horniman Museum and park are nearby. Forest Hill rail station offers a fast service to London Bridge (17 minutes) where it links to the Jubilee tube for access to the City, Docklands and West End. Further east towards Catford offers many traditional three bedroom houses and flats mainly of Edwardian style. A place to note is the Horniman Park area with its spectacular views of the city.
Honour Oak Park SE23
Set between Forest Hill and Brockley with regular rail services to London Bridge and Victoria, this area is gaining popularity and offers many spacious Edwardian and Victorian homes.
Telegraph Hill SE14
This area is built around the park with many substantial period properties, giving easy access to two tube stations at New Cross (East London line). There are local shops and a large Sainsbury's. Being slightly further north, Telegraph Hill offers good road links into London.
